So you have created your first ad on Facebook. And if you have done that right, let’s concentrate on how to engage your fans when they arrive on your Facebook page.
Post regularly
The only thing worse than not having a Facebook page is having an inactive page. Most of the people follow a brand/celebrity/product page to get some exclusive information about them, and you have to give it to them. If you are not doing that you are not giving them any reason to stay. One mustn’t spam their fans’ news-feed by updating 10 consecutive posts in a day and then disappear for the next 20 days. There is no quota, when it comes to updating FB pages, which could be finished in a day.
Have contests
Contests are fun. If you make them interesting, people will participate and chances are it will become viral. Always encourage your fans to share the contests with their friends. You can always gift them products/vouchers of your own brand.
Pretty pictures
Pictures speak a thousand words. It’s so true in the case of Facebook. Sometimes you don’t have to explain a product or campaign with the words, a pretty, real and effective picture would do your job. There is a new fad that has grown in the last year on Facebook — funny-witty pictures. Have your social media consultant look for such pictures that are also related to your page in someway and post them once in a while. People love to share/comment on such pictures. If you can get an in-house designer create one for you every week, would you be a huge bonus.
Like. Like. Like
The “like” is much of what facebook is all about. This simple button has amazing powers and Facebook gives it you for free. This Like Box can be found on Facebook plugin page and can easily be added to your website. If a viewer lands on your website and likes what he sees, chances are he/she will click the Like button from the Like Box on your website to stay updated about your brand/product.
Run polls
Polls are a great way to get feedback from your fans. You will be able to develop better services and products with the help of the feedbacks given by your fans. If the poll questions are interesting, people would love to vote. It’s fun then, and that’s what people are there for. The good thing about polls is they spread like a viral easily.
Hype it on Facebook
Facebook is a great platform to create a buzz before a product launch. Make your fan curious. You can add sneak-peek images or give hints about the upcoming product in statuses. In fact you can play the guessing games with the fans too. Remember, when the product is launched you are bound to get feedback and you will need to play along then.
Customer is the king
People love to get attention and when they see that the brand they love cares about them they will love it even more. Ask your fans to send feedback, enquiries and suggestions right on your Facebook page or if you prefer the FB inbox. Have a social media consultant to reply to all the queries. That works like magic.
